Overall Skiing
Under-rated little resort
- From 2750m to 1400m (1350m vertical drop)
- "Under-rated little resort with some
serious slopes… a lot of variety including steep stuff"
Extract from: Daily Mail - Where to Ski and Snowboard 2000
First glance at the piste map shows 75kms of piste, but
once into the ski system the mountain just seems to expand!
This is partly due to the scenery and variety of skiing. From the
Snowbizz
base at 1600m, the skiing extends up the mountain to 2750m and down
to the village at 1400m - making for an impressive 1350m vertical
drop.
While the sunny snow bowl above the tree line at 2000m is a favourite
with beginners and intermediates.
Larch forests not only give Puy its picture postcard appeal, they
also make off-piste skiing through the trees a very attractive alternative.
For the expert the "the Vallon de Narreyroux" or "Col du Bal" are
the ultimate off-piste challenge (a professional guide is necessary)
