For those of you who are new to us and still considering a ski holiday with Snowbizz we’d like to reintroduce ourselves. We are a true family ski company in every sense and have been operating in Puy St Vincent for 38 years.
So what are we all about? Well as The Times recently said, ‘It’s a simple formula but a successful one.’
From the beginning of your booking you will only speak with Sarah or Jo who will then hand you over to the resort team lead by Michel and Elodie.
Our aim is to have a very personal service from start to finish. From walking you through all the childcare options, to a goodbye call before you travel, to booking restaurants and private lessons in resort, we’re there to ensure the process is as easy as possible.
The resort itself is small and simple, as is the accommodation, but as everything from your ski lifts, restaurants, supermarket, ski hire shop and both childcare settings are just a 2 minute walk from your accommodation with ski in and out, you couldn’t ask for more.
What sets us apart though is our hands on approach to the childcare and ski school.
Our team of British nannies and junior kids reps are hand picked by Elodie, all are DBS checked with at least 2 years childcare experience and all our nannies are qualified.
The success to our creche? The fact our nannies genuinely love what they do and also that our creche is completely child led. Whilst we have structure on what activities we put out each day we go off of the children. If they’d like to do something else, then we change it up. We tailor everything around them!
Our afternoon childcare is also really flexible, you can decide each morning if you’d like to book your little ones into any extra afternoon creche sessions. No need to pre book so you can see how you feel as a family each day.
For our evening kids club, which are for children aged 4 and over, we have different activities each night. Most sessions are two hours long so this gives mums and dads a chance to have a dinner on their own on some of the later kids clubs. We appreciate that sometimes the little ones (3 years old) love the sound of Disco or Pizza Party & Talent Show so might want to come and on our quieter weeks we’re more than happy to accommodate them.
Our Ski School is overseen every single day by Michel, he is on hand before and after every ski lesson throughout the season. He’s there to discuss any concerns and to ensure that every child is happy. Just like our childcare team, our instructors are hand picked by Michel who works closely with the technical director at the ESF.
Every instructor will have a quick chat with Michel before the lesson to make sure they’re aware of any problems like nerves or a lack of confidence. As children progress at different levels the instructors take radios with them so they can stay in touch with Michel to allow easy movement for between classes where necessary. We never want to hold a child back, so if they need to move they will do so during the lesson.
We know that sometimes families are anxious to take their beginner children out skiing for the first time, but the instructor will let you know exactly where they skied and what runs to try in the afternoon.
Whilst the resort is small it has something for everyone, which is why so many families return every single year. Many families comment that by coming back to Puy each year it has helped their children grow in confidence on skis as they really get to know the resort.
