Snowbizz offers the perfect family ski resort in every way.

With the skiing right on your doorstep and all the ski facilities close-by, Puy St Vincent is one of skiing’s best kept secrets. This is truly ski-in, ski-out at its best.

We know that when you’re skiing as a family, there’s a lot of kit, but everything is a 1-2 minutes walk away from your apartment. There’s no waiting for a shuttle bus, long walks whilst
carrying everyone’s ski equipment, balancing children’s nerves as well as your own, the
convenience of Puy St Vincent limits the stresses on a family ski holiday.

This has to be the most convenient family ski resort ever

Puy St Vincent sits at 1600m of altitude, in one of the most stunning settings at the edge of the National Park, Les Ecrins, and is still considered by many to be one of skiing’s best kept secrets.

Apart from a couple of weeks during French holidays Puy St Vincent is virtually queue free.
Much of Puy’s popularity has to do with its fantastic snow record. It’s a well recorded fact that its genuine micro-climate will often give it those extra falls of snow which, over the season, will ultimately make a huge difference to the overall snow depth.

One of the beauties of it being a small family friendly ski resort is that you can easily spot the
children in their lesson. We’re not like some of the big ski resorts where you’ll never bump
into your children and you won’t worry about it being overwhelming for them. Returning
families have always said they feel safe skiing here as all the runs bring you back down to 1600m

When you arrive in resort

When you arrive to Puy St Vincent you’ll be able to pick up your skis and boots, do a food
shop, settle in before our welcome drink in the evening where you’ll meet all the other
families.

Even though everything is on your doorstep we appreciate that after a long travel day with
children there can be a lot to take in so we will always offer to do a tour of resort to show new families around. This way we can go through everything with you and answer any questions. After the welcome drink we’ll also set up a whatsapp group with all the families so we can send reminders and messages throughout the week.

Restaurants

For lunchtime you have several options. For those who don’t fancy skiing to a restaurant and
want to find somewhere as soon as they’ve picked up their children you have a few options.

At 1600 you will have 3 restaurants offering a lunch service (Blue Mountain, Le Petit
Chamois and L’avalanche). All 3 restaurants serve a variety of mountain dishes, salads,
pizzas etc, think carby goodness to refuel after all your skiing. There is also the creperie
serving sweet and savoury pancakes and paninis. As well as this, there are two snack bars
offering fast food options and sandwiches.

For those who want to try somewhere on the mountain there are three options:
The Altitude restaurant at 2000m which is located directly at the top of the Bergerie ski lift, again
offering a selection of lunch options. For those with younger children you can take the ski lift up as a walk on option so don’t feel like you’re restricted to 1600m.

Alternatively you have L’Etoile des Neiges which is located off two ski runs at around
1800m. One of the Snowbizz team’s favourites as it’s a great sun trap for lunch and serving
good food!

Finally you can also ski down to 1400 where there is a restaurant in the Saint Roch hotel as
well as several food trucks serving a variety of options.

For lunch time reservations please note that restaurants do not take bookings. It’s a case of
turning up and grabbing a table. We’d advise if travelling during French holidays to finish your skiing
slightly earlier than the children’s pick up time so someone in the family can secure a table.

For dinner reservations tables can be booked for you. In French holidays we would strongly
advise doing so by pre-booking with Michel or Elodie or once you arrive in resort.
Restaurants typically start serving from 7pm but some can accommodate you earlier.
Michel will do his best to secure your preferred time.

The restaurants open at 1600m in the evenings will be Blue Mountain, L’Avalanche, Le Petit
Chamois, the creperie and La Chaumiere. All serving a variety of options as well as the classics: fondue, raclette and a pierrade (the pierrade is only available at L’Avalanche). La Chaumiere tends to be popular with our guests on a Friday night to coincide with the evening Kiddie Club which is 7-9pm. There is also a restaurant up at 1800m which is in walking distance or you can take the shuttle bus.

If you’d like to have one of the mountain classics in the comfort of your own apartment you
can rent the equipment for a fondue or raclette from the shop underneath Sun Vallee.
